St. Louis Music has announced the appointment of Phil Baughman to the position of Product Manager of E.K. Blessing. Baughman becomes the first overall steward of the E.K. Blessing brand since its acquirement by SLM in 2015.
“I’m thrilled to join St Louis Music,” says Baughman. “SLM has an incredibly rich catalogue of brands, and an excellent team that I’m looking forward to working with. Guiding Blessing during this period of growth is a true honor and I’m very excited for the future.”
Baughman is a 27-year veteran in the industry, with experience in retail, management, marketing, and manufacturing. He has a deep connection with music, achieving a Masters of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Michigan.
Baughman performed professionally into the early 2000s, when he began focusing on instrument sales, becoming a top retailer in brass instruments and parts for International Musical Suppliers. Baughman previously held a Sales Manager position at Schilke Music Products, the storied Chicago trumpet manufacturer, in which he played a critical role for 13 years.
As Product Manager of Blessing, Baughman will be shepherding every aspect of the brand, from product mix and development, to message, direction and long term strategy.
