Sabian Makes Changes to Canadian Sales Force

Canadian Cymbal-makers Sabian has announced that, effective immediately, Dave Firby (pictured above) will take over responsibility for Sabian and Gon Bops sales in Ontario from current rep Kevin Laskey. Firby currently represents Sabian and Gon Bops in Western Canada, and will continue to do so. Kevin Laskey now heads up artist relations in Canada, as well as the day-to-day management of Sabian’s Custom Stop initiative. Laskey also retains his customer service role for Sabian.

Throughout the past 30 years, Firby has enjoyed success as a Canadian manufacturers’ representative, servicing clients throughout Western Canada. He has a long history of success in working with both manufacturers and dealers from all corners of the music instrument industry, and has proven to be a trusted partner and resource for his numerous clients, according to Sabian.

“I don’t think of my clients as customers but as friends,” says Firby. “My relationships with music retailers are what matter most to me, and dealer visits, along with trade shows like NAMM, help to solidify and grow these friendships.”

Firby lives in British Columbia with his wife and daughter and enjoys live and recorded music, skiing, golfing, boating and hiking.

Firby can be reached at dave@firbygroup.com.
