MI megastore Cosmo Music in Richmond Hill, ON has announced that alt rock hitmakers Mother Mother, country starlet Meghan Patrick, and indie rockers The Beaches will be taking the CosmoFEST 2017 main stage for free concerts on Saturday, June 3rd.
These artists include the previously announced performers that include, guitarist Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper), guitarist Nili Brosh, (The Iron Maidens, Tony Macalpine), drummer Chris Coleman (Prince, Chaka Khan, New Kids on the Block), bassist Alain Caron (UZEB), and drummer Dennis Chambers (Santana, Parliament/Funkadelic). All of these artists make up a series of musician clinics, performances, and meet n’ greets happening at CosmoFEST.
The Juno and MMVA Award-nominated Mother Mother earned critical acclaim with their first two outings Touch Up (2007), and O My Heart (2008). Their next two releases Eureka (2011), and The Sticks (2012) delivered the top five radio hits “The Stand,” “Bit By Bit,” and “Let’s Fall In Love” – making the band the second most aired alternative act in Canada in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, they racked up more hits with “Get Out The Way,” “Monkey Tree,” and “Modern Love.” Since then they’ve garnered over five top ten singles on the alt rock charts, over 1.5 million streams on Spotify, and over 1.3 million views on YouTube. The band released their sixth album, *No Culture, *through Universal Music in February.
Born and raised in Bowmanville, ON, Meghan Patrick has quickly made a name for herself since signing to Warner Music Canada. Her debut album Grace and Grit was released in the spring of 2016. She has worked with producers Justin Niebank (Leann Rimes), Vince Gill, Chris Baseford (Nickelback, Avril Lavigne), and Carly McKillip. To add even more star power to her debut, Meghan brought in a few more big names: multiple Grammy nominee Joe Nichols who duets with her on “Still Loving You,” and fellow Canadian Chad Kroeger, who co-wrote and produced her debut single “Bow Chicka Wow Wow.”
Toronto-based indie rock band The Beaches caught fans’ attention and that of iconic indie label Island Records with their two self-released EPs. Their latest single “Give It Up” is a hard-hitting, reverb-heavy anthem that calls for change in any context. The band has toured the UK, played Canadian festivals like Osheaga and Wayhome, and even opened for Eagles of Death Metal.
A full schedule of events and times will be available in late April/early May, including main stage times, artist meet n’ greets, grand prizes and giveaways, sale details, Kidz Zone, food trucks and beer garden, and attractions.
