B&J Music, a division of Jam Industries, has been appointed the Canadian distributor for both Kyser Musical Products and Drum Workshop’s recently acquired American brand family. Both distribution agreements take effect on May 1, 2015.
Since 2013, Kyser Musical Products’ CEO, Meredith Hamlin, has continued her uncle Milton Kyser’s legacy from Canton, TX, where the family-owned business delivers the Quick Change capo, and a full range of U.S.-made guitar accessories and care products to over 70 countries worldwide.
“We could not be more pleased to represent this outstanding brand. Kyser Musical is the perfect addition and furthers the mission of delivering the finest musical products, accessories, and service to Canadian music dealers,” says David McAllister, VP of B&J Music.
“After careful analysis, we concluded that B&J Music was the right home for Kyser Musical,” adds Randall Williams, Director of International Sales for Kyser Musical. “We look forward to continuing to build the tradition of excellence we are known for in Canada and around the globe.”
Regarding the agreement with Drum Workshop, this distribution agreement follows DW’s purchase of a number of American brands from Fender Musical Instruments in January 2015. This Canadian distribution agreement includes LP-Latin Percussion, TOCA Percussion, Gretsch Drums, Gibraltar Hardware, KAT percussion, and Ovation Guitars.
“The acquisition of this prestigious American brand family by Drum Workshop Inc. is among the biggest news in our industry in recent years. B&J Music is honoured to represent this brand group. This brings our mission of delivering the finest music products, brands, and service to Canadian music dealers to a whole new level,” says McAllister.
“Jam Industries is the leader in Canadian distribution and the logical choice to represent our new brand family. We look forward to a successful and growing partnership in Canada,” says Larry Winerman, VP of International Sales at Drum Workshop Inc.
